My Nonna Concetta was a very special lady, she was caring, generous and funny.

Concetta married Bruno and had 6 lovely children,
Guiseppe, Lena (my mum), Fred, Veronica, Nick and Elizabeth.

My Nonna Concetta was part of a big family of brothers and sisters, she adored them all and missed them so much when she came to England for a better life for her family. She had 16 grandchildren, Frank, Lina, Concetta, Emanuela, Alessandra, Maria, Concettina, Bruno, Concetta, Santino, Daniela, Carlo, Natasha, Joe, Joshua and Lucia and 1 great grandchild Elizabeth-Rose.

Concetta, my Nonna was a very hard working lady along with my Nonno, trying to give the best to their children, to give up their lives in Italy to come here was a huge sacrifice but it was all worth it because of the quality of life they have given all of us.

My Nonna used to go to Italy every year to visit her family and some of her grandchildren would be waiting at her house for when she arrived with her suitcase full of goodies for us all!

Nonna was the first on the dance floor at weddings and the last one off! she was loved by everyone especially by her family because of her big personality and her huge caring heart.

My Nonna suffered a stroke in 1996, in which she lost the ability for speech and movement on one side, and the doctors said if she's lucky to survive she will never walk again.... my special mum Lena became her main carer, even if my Nonna didn't need anything my mum would just go over to keep her company.

My Nonna was a strong lady and remarkably was able to walk again with a stick and do some normal things like make her "Italian tomato sauce" and her "salami" she never let it stop her.

We had another 12 years with my Nonna, but somehow that doesn't seem enough. My Nonna went to sleep on 30th September 08 and it broke our hearts, I've never seen her house with so many people, all her children and grandchildren all under one roof, what she would have loved!

My Nonna is greatly missed by her husband, children and grandchildren and we will never forget such a charming lady.

It hurts me to lose my Nonna but I know that losing loved ones is part of life but when it happens, your heart breaks to think your not going to see that person on earth again but we will definitely meet again when God calls us one by one.

Thank you mum for all you did for Nonna, she wouldn't have been where she was without you. x

Love you Nonna, sleep tight

Quietly I Weep
By Lyndie Sorenson

Although I seem to hide it
My sorrow's still so deep
Missing you in silence
Quietly I weep

I long to see your smile
Hear your laughter, hug you tight
But you're no longer with me
You've headed toward the light

I'm sure you are quite happy
Here on earth I miss you so
Asking that same question
Why was it you that had to go?

I am sure there is an answer...
One that might make sense
When others offer reasons
I'm just on the defence

If they could understand me
Know how hard life is with grief
Just hold my hand and listen...
That would be a great relief

Although I seem to hide it
My sorrow's still so deep
Missing you in silence...
Quietly I weep
